Name ChangesMaasai: Ole ntaiyia was given to Len as a tribute for all the work he has undertaking with the Maasai. The name itself is a family tribal name of his now brother (ndugu) Solomon. Kikuyu: Magegania (wonder) The name Magegania was bestowed upon Len by Pastors Simon and Margaret Mwangi for the work with the AIDS orphans, children and the community of Mathare (math-ahree) seen in the clip on the front page) which is Nairobi's worst slum township. Container for Schools ProjectWorking on converting disused containers into classrooms and living space, for children to be able to receive education, as for living spaces they will mainly be provided for the orphans of the ever increasing AIDS crisis. James (deaf and dumb)Seen in the video with his picture of a lion! This young lad wants to be an artist, so Len will be nurturing his talent and will provide the necessary tools to become one. Also in the Video clipA little boy with chapati and plastic bottle. Having provided flour the children helped create a meal of Chapatis for Len, this is considered a special treat, Margaret ensured all the children received some. Children PerformingZion wanted to sing to Len as a thank you knowing that Len feels that children and song go together perfectly. Five youngsters undertook their performance for the same reason and sang an AIDS/religous song to him. Baby WiseThe school Len is going to create is dedicated to Wise as a legacy, she has had to face traumas that most people would not have to face in a lifetime, let alone in the first year of her tender life. The plot of land Len will purchase will be given to all the children of Mathare so they will receive an education in the correct enviroment. |
